Error trying to install Skin

I have tried to change permissions on the folder and file to read, write execute. What else am I missing?

Who's your webhost? They've set "allow_url_fopen" to off in their php.ini file, which means that there is nothing you can do to fix that error, other than convince them to change their policy on remote file access.

In the mean time, just download and install the file manually from within the ThesisReady.com member panel.

Please Help this utterly frustrated user!

I chose your Thesis skin becuase I was sold on the site's comments of "Simple to install". My experience has been anything but simple.

1. Renamed my current Thesis and got 1.8.4 from DIYThemes and uploaded it to Themes directory.
   
2. I tried to install Thesis Ready plugin. Got fopen error. Found your answer in the support forum. (But from what I can gather from looking on the web generally, many ISPs close access like this, so I'm not convinced needing an fopen is the right way to go with this, although I do understand your wish to allow users to avoid FTP). Anyway, installed plugin manually into plugins folder, and connected fine to your site.
   
3. Tried to install Gradient via ThesisReady plugin and got error message, see below. It seems to be looking for Thesis _182 but my new version is now 184.

Please advise what I need to do.

I do realise this is a free theme, so I appreciate your answer.

My URL is http://www.ecofriendlylink.com/blog. I use Wordpress 3.3.1. I have put my site back to my original Thesis 182 while this gets sorted out as I can't have any more downtime.
