by Adam Barber on December 10, 2009

Overview

At ThesisReady, nothing is better than a happy customer. Happy customers tell their friends, and create buzz, and I think you should be rewarded for that. To say “thanks” for the help you’re giving me to grow ThesisReady into an ever better Thesis, and WordPress resource, the affiliate program allows you to earn a commission on every sale you bring in.

A 33% commission to be precise.

The program is totally free for you to join – it only requires that you create a free ThesisReady account to get access to the member panel. Once on, you’ll have access to all the links, and banners you’ll need to get started.

Program Details

Here are a few things I think you should know about the affiliate program. Before that, though – create your free ThesisReady account, if you haven’t already, to get access to free Thesis skins, and your affiliate area.

  • You earn a whopping 33% commission on all sales!
  • You’ll get an email from ThesisReady every time you make a sale, so you know how well you’re doing.
Payments are made on the 15th of the month after you have $100 or more outstanding commissions in your account.
  • Do you plan on selling a LOT of ThesisReady premium skins? Email ThesisReady Affiliate Support, and we can work out an increased percentage for you.
  • Your tracking cookie lasts for 30 days, meaning if someone you refer buys a ThesisReady skin within 60 days of their original visit, you get credit for the sale.
  • You have access to several banners that have been created to convert your visitors into customers. No need to design your own, if you don’t want to.

What Exactly is Affiliate Marketing?

At ThesisReady, affiliate marketing is a “thank you” for helping promote, and sell Thesis skins. For every sale you bring, you get to keep a cut of that sale. If you want to find out more that you ever thought possible about affiliate marketing, its originals, benefits, and place in the e-Commerce ecosystem, check out this Wikipedia article.

Remember, the more informed you are, the better success you’ll have with running your own affiliate sales.

Seven Quick Affiliate Marketing Tips

Now that you’ve joined the program, and are super-pumped to make your first sale, here are a few tops to get started off on the right foot, and maximize the results of your efforts.

  1. Write blog posts, and articles (for your site, and others) discussing your thoughts on ThesisReady skins. Remember – honesty is important here. This not only gives your visitors a chance to connect with you, but if they like what they read and feel they can trust you, they will click on your affiliate links you add.
  2. Add a ThesisReady affiliate link to your blog footer. That’s always the first place people look when they want to find out more about a website design they like.
  3. Leverage your email list by sending your subscribers links to your review articles, and encourage them to forward the message to their contacts.
  4. Make sure your forum signatures in any online communities your frequent include your ThesisReady affiliate link.
  5. If you are a designer, or consultant, offer ThesisReady skins to your clients via your affiliate link as a way to save on project costs and time. That’s a win-win for both you, and your clients.
  6. Invite your friends to become affiliates as well. Don’t think of this as competition, but as having more support on your team. If potential customers see lots of sites promoting ThesisReady, they will be more likely to purchase a skin. The network effect makes things even easier for you, but building social proof.
  7. Be creative! Out-of-the-box thinking will attract attention, and more attention means more sales.
